Tinkering tools and toys

Image result for tinkering tools and toys
Today in zeal zone, we were thinking about tinkering tools and toys. We were brainstorming, about how we could make our school (Pt England) a better place to be. We were in groups so that when we have something good for an idea we could tell one of our members in our group. These are our idea’s to put inside our school a pool, a arcade, dance class, art class, cooking class, fast food given out for free ( Example: like mcdonald's).

Our final decision was to build a arcade because kids love games and we thought that it would be a great place to go during lunch times or sometimes morning tea. Since we were a all girl group. We thought that we could only make girls, enter the arcade, no boys were allowed. Please leave a comment.

Rebekah Smart Values - Making Links

My task for today was to write down some feedback about what these three words are meaning to do online. I think this is important because there are bad people online and some dangerous stuff when you search for something on Google. Don't be a bad person, be responsible and great online.

Poetry Writing - War

Feeling sad, angry mad, working hard in storing, building supply depots and digging deep trenches. No one gets the clue, they came to war for just fighting, for that reason they weren’t thinking that war was also about storing, working, and training. Firing guns, loud tanks, dreadful noises, and people trying their hardest. 1914 past, 1915 went, 1916 and 1917 came and go, 1918 is a gonner.

Men wanted, asked, and begged to volunteer. Maori’s were angry at the pakeha care’s, they also asked to be apart of this war year. Government choices said yes! Happy, grateful, smiling, and cheers. We prayed, they prayed, everyone prayed for their movements. We trained, fired, stabbed, and damaged badly. We ran, we shouted, we saluted, and said “yes sir.” Protecting, fighting among others, crying and leaving behind. Thousands shooted, many stabbed. Many wounded, also died, sadly sick. The Dead, stuffed in the bottom of a boat, smell was strong. Finally travelling back home, the safe zone, hugging, kissing, cheers, parades, parties, and many more.

We shall remember them!

Chant

Left, Left, Left Right Left, Left, Left, Left Right Left, Left, Left, Left Right Left!

In 1914
People were fighting
Men were sad, Some were glad. People were also mad.
Bayonets, Bullets and torches
were also used in their marches
Shooting, crying, saving lives, was the rest of my life. Finally, I am back home, here in my safe zone.

This is the end of the chant,

Next time will you chant with us?

Zeal Zone - P.E Idea's

Future Aspiration Writing

Today in Pt England school, the year 7 and 8 students were talked by three famous and wise men which are named Marcus Winter, Andrew Patterson, and Louis. They all talked about what they completed and done in there childhood memories. Marcus is a sand artist, he is Maori, and he is known as the sandman. Andrew is the person who organized this for us, he is also on the radio on Sunday’s and other day’s. Louis is a fantastic basketball player and video’s himself well playing and also other famous or awesome people. I will be talking about what happened today and what we did and what they done for us.

The very first thing we did for future aspiration, Andrew had explained a couple of things we should have in mind. He said that, “Your brain grows when you're struggling.” I really thought that was false but when I researched about it I found out that it was true by science. He also talked about quotes and that we should influence the world and not be like other people or copy. We should focus on ourselves, that is the true meaning to his speech.

Second thing, It was time for one of the famous Maori artist in New Zealand. He is the Marcus Winter also known as sandman, He teached us a fantastic dance going to the song (Uptown Funk) by Bruno Mars, It was very fun. Then he talked about how he started to do art. He first started in the Otahuhu markets and made amazing paintings outside of Burger king at Queensland street. That is where Andrew had discovered him and that is how he became this amazing person. He said in his childhood, that he was a very slow writer and very slow thinker, he was always the last person to do his writing but that didn’t stop him from anything.

Lucky last, “Louis is so cute,” said my friend. I was excited to see what he did in his childhood and what he completed. Louis introduced himself and talked about himself and what he does for a living. Did you know that he was discovered by Andrew by 5 weeks earlier? He had showed  us, his basketball game from last night and said that he was very young when he started basketball. I was very inspired!

When we had finished future aspiration, me and the rest of team 5 students had sang a song to the three special men and thanked them with forgiven speeches. The were all given chocolate with cards. We were all inspired and enjoyable after that moment!

World War 1 Writing - By Rebekah And Johnlee

In world war 1 there was gas, Canada was the alone country that did not have gas mask for fighting and living. Every other county did because they had invited it by science. Back then they didn’t have planes, they had horses, for listening out for danger they had used a big and huge horn that is called a war horn. Some soldiers were forced to go back home for 3 weeks and return back.

Talking about gas, When there were no gas masks some soldier’s would die from inside their lungs well drowning with a sort of liquid. It was a global war. Britain was the most brutalised country which means not humble or respectful. They were the savager with the treaty of not kindness. Germany had been sold out by the polateshions . The thing with world war 1 is that it had become mercher and more distributed.

In the 19 century, they did not have in technology like highly loaded planes or trackers to track people that they were against and even phones for taking selfies, so they would have to travel on horses to state their marks for war. It was painful for those in the 19 century. The reason why they travelled back in planes is because they had figure out science and technology. They were impressed of what they had done to a boring piece of medal.
The reason why they made guns and all those deadly stuff is because, how would they fight, what would they use to kill or to wound people, how could they kill from far distance. They also create technology because things were hard for travelling and preparing attacks in the 19 century.  Technology helped them because of what was coming for them when they didn’t know and they also need technology because, they would have to track or hear out for danger.

Beside guns and harmful and death things, me and my partner think that they would of used metal fences in world war 1 and also rope traps to capture, not harm. We also think, that they used tracking devices on boats and ungraded tanks. What do you think technology was like in the 19 century? Please leave a comment and try to answer the question!

World War 2 Writing 2015

In 1939 to 1945, there had been world war 2, some soldier's had said that it was a very great and global war. I was very surprised well I was researching about it. What is war all about to you?

It involved the vast majority of the world's nations including all of the great powers eventually forming two opposing military alliances. All soldiers were terrified and afraid to go to war for the second times. 100 million people from over 30 countries had volunteered to fight for the British empire. Did you know that some artist that had written about world war 2, had said that world war 2 was the deadliest conflict of human history?

The Empire of Japan aimed to dominate Asia and the Pacific and was already at war with the Republic of China in 1937 but the world war is generally said to have begun on 1 September 1939. It was thought as the Empire of Japan wanted to set every time, date, month, and possible every year. These are the countries of where world war 2 were taken, EuropePacificAtlanticSouth-East AsiaChinaMiddle EastMediterraneanNorth AfricaHorn of Africa, North and South America. World war 2 had ended in 1945 in September the 2nd.

Today I am in music class with a reliever named Mr Slade. I was so excited and pumped, to working with him. We are learning how to sing (We'll meet again) by Veran Lynn and (It's a long way from Tipperary.) Well the class is singing, Mr Slade is playing the guitar for a great tune. I love music!

After we finish singing we would be performing in front of all the other year 7 and 8's. I am really looking forward! What do you think Zeal zone groups are all about?  Please leave a comment and please comment back for anymore information!

World War 1 Writing Post

In 1914 the 28th of July, there had been a war that was in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Pacific Islands, China and off the coast of South and North America. The soldiers that returned back from war, had been sad and angry because of what had happened to there friends, families, and others. They also said that it was a global war to remember. 9 million combatants and 7 million civilians more had died. When I heard about it I was so very sad of the soldier's who thought for us that is here in New Zealand!

The 28th of July, the Austro-Hungarians declared war on Serbia. Russia seemed to support Serbia well Britain were declaring war on Germany. More than 70 million military personnel, including 60 million Europeans, were mobilised in one of the largest wars in history.  Although Italy had also been a member of the Triple Alliance alongside Germany and Austria-Hungary, it did not join the Central Powers, as Austria-Hungary had taken the offensive against the terms of the alliance.

The war had lasted until the 11th of November in 1918. Did you know that some of the soldier's had said that it was a great war? I was surprised to hear that because, when I researched up (What is war?) It seemed as it was just taking over country's and being violent. I wasn't really pleased that people actually said that but I respect what they thought about war. What do you think world war 1, is about?

Dear Gustav Guttenbeil:
Gustav, I am very sorry of your fathers lost and I felt very sad  when you were telling your story of what was happening. You should  travel back Tonga because it is your home and also you should learn more about your country because it should be a task ahead for you. I also think that you should meet your other part of families that you didn’t know of, it is important to know. I understand, that is hard but sometimes a life has to leave.

My Symbol

My task for today was to make my own symbol of what I can remember from World War 1. The reason why I draw this eye is because, the eye is representing the future of when we should remember World War 1 and it describes my seeing of how it had been in war. In my eye, it says Lest we forget. That means we should remember those who went to war for us. The eye also means to see those in the stars!
